Information
The Honda monocoque for the 1965 F1 season weighed about thirty kg less than the '64 model. The car for 1965, signed RA272, had the most powerful engine of the field, a V12 delivering some 240 BHP, although suffering from a narrow power range. Ronnie Bucknum and Richie Ginther were the two Honda riders for 1965. Ginther managed to win the last GP of the season, in Mexico, while Bucknum's best result was a fifth place, also in Mexico. Honda finished sixth in the constructors' championship, behind Lotus, BRM, Brabham, Ferrari and Cooper.
